Colin Rankine will be standing as Yeshua Party's candidate for Friar Park Ward in Wednesbury during the election on 7th May 2026.

Colin has a passion for the ward and a deep knowledge of the needs of the area, having been born and raised in Wednesbury.

​

Colin has been serving the local community in multiple capacities for many years and desires to serve as a Councillor to improve the living standards and opportunities for all.

​

If elected, Colin will focus on access to housing, vandalism, issues with dog waste and antisocial behaviour. 

​

Colin also wants to implement a number of community projects including:

• a local swimming pool

• a local church

• community banking

• the extension of allotments

• adequate flooring for the walkway between Friar Park Farm and Kent road 

• better community play areas

• the reclamation of contaminated land

• a community farm for fresh produce

• an extension of provision for local shops

• extended parking for the train station

• making the park facilities appropriate for a wider age range of children

• secure fencing between Bescot Freight station and the contaminated land to protect the community, the canals and to discourage fly-tipping

• upgrading and dredging of the canals 

• improved walkways and access around the canals and Tame river

• a designated area for dirt-bikes

• safety training and competitions for dirt-bikes

He wants to better prepare the community for the severe changes that are coming ahead due to the cost-of-living crisis.

​

Colin's overall vision is to support a self-sustaining community that is less reliant on mainstream services.
